Chocolate Bread Pudding Recipe

2 cups (approx.4 slices) small bread cubes
3 cups milk, scalded
2 one ounce squares, unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup sugar
pinch salt
3 eggs, well beaten
1 t-spoon vanilla

Directions

1.Grate chocolate with milk when scalding it;
when chocolate melts beat it with rotary beater to blend it.
2. Combine bread cubes and scalded milk in buttered 2-quart baking dish;
soak bread for 10 minutes.
3.Combine sugar and salt in small bowl;
stir in eggs and vanilla.
4.Pour sugar-egg mix over bread cubes and mix well.
5.Bake under moderate temp(350 f) for 1 1/4 hours(75 min)
or until knife inserted in center of pudding comes out clean.
6.Serve warm or cold.
